We all want the same thing don’t we?
An organisation where people are committed, responsible, act like mental owners, and give each other meaningful feedback. The ultimate high-performing teams inside a learning organisation. Do you have that? If you do, congratulations.
Less than 2 per cent do, in our experience.
To get the holy grail of performance, most leaders respond by redesigning processes. A new form, a new ratings model, a new framework. The process changes; the conversation inside doesn't. A manager who feels responsible for the outcome, an employee waiting to be told what to write down, and three different purposes (development, pay, accountability) squashed into one meeting that serves none of them.
So if it’s not about changing the process, what is it that makes the difference?
This webinar is about our perspective on how to create the shift from performance as something to control, to conditions in which people own their development and leaders act more as coaches. It’s designed for HR practitioners (CHROs, HRDs, senior business partners and L&D professionals). We ask that consultants don't join unless invited, but get in touch if you're unsure.
Tuff Leadership Training has been partnering with organisations for more than 25 years to upgrade their leadership and teams when it comes to performance. How we approach this is not what most people expect, and it's not comfortable. But we find there is usually a crucial missing piece which explains why each new performance process redesign falls short.

You're responsible for culture, leadership, people or learning and development, and quietly suspect we've been going about this the wrong way

You are ready and curious to try something different
You probably shouldn't come if
You're looking for a new template, platform or rating scale to roll out next quarter
You're looking for edutainment
You'd like someone to tell you the annual review is fine as it is

More and more is being written about self-managing and decentralised ways of working, with organisations like Haier and Buurtzorg capturing the attention of management and business thinkers the world over. However, most (if not all) of the focus in these case studies tends to be on structures and processes. Don’t get me wrong, structures and processes are extremely important. But they are not enough if we truly want our organisations to shift.
